unrequited love
Love is a beautiful thing, but not when it’s unrequited

unrequited loveLove is a beautiful thing, but not when it’s unrequited. You’re totally head over heels in love with someone and they don’t even know you exist, or worse still, they know but aren’t interested.

Don’t get unrequited love mixed up with a “crush” – we’ve all had these, many came when we were younger. Unrequited love can affect your mood and the constant obsessing can affect all areas of your life.

Here are some tips for getting over it, or at least making your life more manageable.

They don’t know you exist...
You have two options - tell them, or accept that nothing will happen.  You can’t carry on revolving your life around someone who hasn’t got a clue.

They don’t feel the same...
It can feel like the end of the world – but please know that the heartache will fade and so will your feelings for them.

Don’t feel embarrassed that they know how you feel – in most cases they’ll be flattered and touched that you feel that way.  If they think it’s funny and laugh in your face – use that horrible behaviour as the first reason why you need to get over them.  You don’t want to be with someone who would treat other people that way.

Accept it’s not your fault...
Don’t waste your life wondering why they don’t love you back.  You can’t choose who you are attracted to and neither can they.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with you, so don’t spend your life thinking that if you change yourself then maybe they’ll grow to love you. Start to enjoy the things you used to before they came along and who knows, love may be just around the corner for you; after all, these things normally comes along when we’re least interested.
